The highly anticipated and long awaited LP release of female solo artist
emcee BRIX is back in production stages. Due to the unexpected premature
pre-release of various original tracks, the album, which is re-scheduled
from it's 2003 drop date, has been remolded to include newly recorded material
and additional features. More than half the original album has been cut
making room for tracks BRIX has been recording since the albums original
completion, some including features not usual to an independent artist's
freshman release. The new release is now being kept strictly under wraps to avoid the fate of the original release. Representatives of the project have decided to leave the release date TBA pending the acquiration of 3,500 additional reservations; however assuring us, the fans, the guarantee that this project will be available before the end of the Summer 2004. Preliminary information acquired on this release has been that OVERPROOF will be a compilation of 17 tracks produced by High Society's 'BRBeatz', Byg Sev & Rich 5, Omen, Scratchizm Crew and several special guests. The project managers have come together to cooperatively bring a seamless consistent sound across the wide variation of talent. We can also expect special guest appearances by Krumbsnatcha, W.O.L.V.E.S., and RdaFact just to name a few. With her urban militant style, BRIX, dubbed by fellow artists and industry professionals alike, the Joan of Arc of Hip Hop, is the first female in a long time to make a presentation of herself "free of propaganda and coersive sexual induendoes". Insisting her music will carry her, BRIX has strong faith in the principal that women shouldn't have to sell their souls (or their body) to sell their music. BRIX instead hopes to capture the support of her fans under the umbrella of "reality rap", touching on subjects like single parenthood, death of a loved one, the struggle of being the one who's looked up to when you don't feel like you should be... On the flip-side, she come carries the torch with fully equipped street anthems, headbangers, and club stompers proving once and for all BRIX can achieve greatness independently in a male dominated and major label monopolized industry and fully capture the attention of urban and popular audiences alike. |
